So I lost my pen bag on the BART this morning losing nearly $150 worth of pens (I had a Pelikan M-150 that I dearly loved). I am so distraught right now. Losing something in the Bay Area is frustratingly sad because you know you will never see it again. The Bay is f#@king shady and somebody’s probably trying to figure out how to turn my Pelikan into a crack pipe.
So I haven’t posted in a while, because I’ve mostly been painting and I’m too lazy to take a pic. I have been doing some stuff on the computer, but mostly flash programming stuff. I’ll have a game posted up here soon. Your basic shooter game is all. To tide over the masses who might frequent my blog (all six of you), here is an oldy but a goody that I sent the New Yorker and was soundly rejected.
Here’s an illustration I did for a friend as an experiment for one of his projects. I basically cribbed from a real painting. It was drawn with a brush and colored in Photoshop.
Switching subjects, my comrade Coire invited me to a meeting of fellow Bay Area comic artist and it was a good time. I met some great artists and people and got a lot of encouraging feedback on my recent comic work. I of course couldn’t help but feel as socially awkward as I usually do (I talk a lot when I’m nervous and have a habit of shooting my mouth off when I don’t mean to), so I hope I didn’t come off badly. Anyway, I hope to post some links to everybody’s work sometime in the future.
I was just fooling around with Flash tonight. There’s supposed to be a cereal bowl in front of her, but I got sleepy.
I have a lot of material in my sketchbooks that I never post because of the content. I’ve generally tried to keep my web page clean, but unfortunately this has meant that some of my best doodles never make it to the net. So here is the deal, DO NOT CLICK ON THE IMAGE BELOW UNLESS YOU ARE 18 OR OVER! There’s nothing really raunchy, just a bunch of nujidity, but some peoples get their panties in a bunch just from mention of the word “nipple”. Arigato.
Here are a couple of still paintings from my forever in the works masterpiece, Robo-3000. I’ve been working on it for three years now, which is sad, because its definitely no award winner. Its a crude story to be sure, but its kinda funny and it allows me to do a lot of different things. The set are hand made and were professionally lit and shot. The animation is pretty complex and uses a bunch of programs. It even will have some 3D stuff. I’ve been painting these still digitally and have been using Little Annie Fanny for color reference.

Just playing around with some new brushes.

Another painting I did in an hour based off of a random sketch.
