Getting Hammered

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

I won’t be posting for a while as I shall be in Michigan with mi famille for the holidays. So to keep with the holiday cheer, here’s a tribute to Hammer horror movies. I’m basically just trying to keep the mood of the movies without referencing any particular one.

Still Hammered

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Here are some more preliminary drawings I have been working on for my next comic project (that hopefully won’t fall on its face). Its a Victorian-era horror story that I’ve pretty much written out in its entirety. I want to try and make the images more like 1920’s style cartooning, but still make it macabre.

Fungus Need Love Too!

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

So here are two test pages I’ve worked on this weekend. Its half of a 4 page short story before I get the ball rolling on a bigger project. I’m pretty satisfied overall. Some things need some tweeking, but this is a test and a fun one at that. Please leave comments and let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions (beside chopping off my hand).

Fungus Fini!

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Final two pages. These are not final. I’m still working out issues with coloring. I got some good advice on what was wrong with my colors and I’m trying to figure all of that stuff out. Until then, here are the final pages of the fungus storyline. I’ve got more stories to come and I’m surprised by how fast they are popping into my head. I just hope my hands and limited abilities can keep up with my imagination.

Sedan Nothing Pages Are Up

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

I placed all of my finished pages up on the Sedan page (click the link at the top). The story, of course, has not been finished, but I plan to revisit it when I can. I love working on it and I hope people enjoy reading it.

The Artist & The Muse

Did this thing over the weekend. Took pretty much the whole time.

Accessory Babies and Lost Pens

Friday, March 16th, 2007

So I lost my pen bag on the BART this morning losing nearly $150 worth of pens (I had a Pelikan M-150 that I dearly loved). I am so distraught right now. Losing something in the Bay Area is frustratingly sad because you know you will never see it again. The Bay is f#@king shady and somebody’s probably trying to figure out how to turn my Pelikan into a crack pipe.
So I haven’t posted in a while, because I’ve mostly been painting and I’m too lazy to take a pic. I have been doing some stuff on the computer, but mostly flash programming stuff. I’ll have a game posted up here soon. Your basic shooter game is all. To tide over the masses who might frequent my blog (all six of you), here is an oldy but a goody that I sent the New Yorker and was soundly rejected.

Lulu & Mitzy

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

It’s been a super long time since I posted last because I completely fawked up my website trying to be fancier than I was capable of pulling off. So here I am! Back to square one. I’ll be updating some stuff - adding a comics section and a place to stuff all of my Robo 3000 related work.
In the space between webpage meltdown and now I have been very busy. I’m halfway finished with a comic called Lulu & Mitzy about two prostitutes living in the Tenderloin area of San Francisco (basically a block from mine and Yo’s apartment). Its a comedy and I’m more than satisfied with it. I like the characters a lot and look forward to developing them more.
I sent a bunch of finished pages to publishers last week and am keeping my fingers crossed. If none of them pick it up I’m going to definitely look into self-publishing because I really believe this title will do pretty well. I mean, who doesn’t like prostitutes?

Comics Are Up!

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

I finally created a comics page that has pretty much everything I have done over the past couple of years. The infamous and failed sleeping book is up as well as various odds and ends. Myrva is the only finished story, but I’m still at work on Lulu & Mitzy. Spread the fun.
