Lulu & Mitzy Back in Action

Monday, February 15th, 2010

The girls are back and apparently so am I. After over a year, Lulu and Mitzy will be updated 1-2 times a week from here on out with a new storyline taking off from where the last volume (published by SLG and still available in stores and from slgcomic.com) ended. I am still working on a non-L&M graphic novel, but my life has been quite hectic since I moved to New York one year ago. Lulu & Mitzy is how I blow off steam. I can’t vent my frustrations, but damnit Mitzy can.

How does living in NYC affect Lulu and Mitzy, whom I’ve left living in San Francisco? Not much. I feel my intimacy with the Tenderloin fading, but that’s where the girls live and that’s where they’ll stay. If there will be any change at all it will perhaps be that the comic will stop being so San Francisco-centric.

Will there ever be a Lulu & Mitzy Volume 2 in print? Who knows. The chances are pretty slim right now, but if you buy a copy of volume one and you get 2000 friends to buy a copy then there’s a pretty good chance. Diamond Distribution has to be shown that L&M can do well. Right now, that isn’t so much the case. Dan Vado, head of SLG, has made temporary office furniture out of my unsold copies.

If you live in New York, Lulu & Mitzy is everywhere with the exception of major chain stores, like B&N and Borders. But multiple copies have been spied in Manhattan Comics, Things From Another World, and The Strand (where a new copy goes for like $6.95).

Enjoy the new adventures of Lulu & Mitzy and keep checking back here for updates.

Ciao,
S. Eddy
